Enduring Understanding
Individuals require understanding of content in order to apply knowledge in new situations and to problems they encounter in their lives.

Essential Questions

  • How is "understanding" different than "knowing"?
  • How do I develop understanding in my classroom?
  • Develop a performance for demonstrating understanding of an essential question?
Goals
The participants will:
  • Demonstrate facets of understanding.
  • Write essential questions based on benchmarks (standards).
  • Experience lessons that incorporate multiple intelligences, inquiry, and active learning.
  • Develop a performance for demonstrating understanding of an essential question.
