DESIGN ELEMENT SIX

INNOVATIVE USE AND INTEGRATION OF TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT INSTRUCTION, CURRICULUM, ASSESSMENT, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

AIM schools meaningfully integrate a range of technology tools into effective teaching practices. Teachers and students use low-, mid-, and high-tech tools to ensure that all students fully participate in the curriculum and achieve high standards.

Students use technology tools to:

  • explore topics and gather information
  • integrate and organize information
  • represent their understanding
  • communicate with peers and experts
AIM schools take advantage of information and communication technologies to enhance ongoing professional development to deepen their knowledge and skills through:
  • facilitated online discussions
  • sharing information and collaborating in problem solving
  • accessing web-based resources
  • exploring topics of interest
  • participating in videoconferences and e-learning events
