Phase Three
* * *
Phase One
The school conducts a thorough inventory of the quantity and quality of
technology currently available for teaching and learning.
The school examines the extent of technology use by teachers and students,
and identifies any barriers to use.
The school develops a technology plan to expand technology use--including
adding equipment, making it more accessible and providing professional
development to help teachers make better use of what is available.
Phase Two
The school expands the quantity and quality of technology available for
teaching and learning, and makes sure it is accessible to teachers and
students.
Teachers begin integrating technology more frequently into curriculum
and instruction. Students begin using technology to acquire and synthesize
information and communicate understanding.
Teachers are more apt to use technology for their own learning.
Phase Three
Technology use is widespread throughout the school.
Teachers use technology routinely as a tool for curriculum, instruction,
and assessment.
Students routinely use computers and other media to acquire and synthesize
information and communicate understanding.
Teachers routinely use technology for their own learning-gathering Web-based
resources, sharing units, participating in e-learning events, and engaging
in on-line discussions.
